On behalf of the Kitchener Knights of Columbus, Mr. Stephen Handrigan, Director of the St. Michael’s Choir School, accepts a $2,000.00 donation from Grand Knight Brian Schmalz. The funds were raised as a result of the successful St. Michael’s Choir School Christmas Concert held in St. Mary’s Church sponsored by Council 1504.

On behalf of the Kitchener Knights of Columbus, Father George Nowak, CR, Pastor of St. Mary Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Kitchener accepts a $2,000.00 donation from Grand Knight Brian Schmalz. The funds were raised as a result of the recent St. Michael’s Choir School Benefit Concert held in the Church sponsored by Council 1504.

Father Joseph de Viveiros, right, accepts a K of C donation from Brother Gary Megaffin in the amount of $1,000.00 for St. Francis Church. Council 1504 continues to support their parishes when help is needed.

 

Knights of Columbus Bingo (On-going)

Knights of Columbus Council 1504 currently participates with 70 other charities and non-profit organizations in Kitchener-Waterloo raising funds through Charitable Bingo at the K-W Gaming Centre located at 501 Krug Street. Funds raised through charitable bingo are used to support programs and services that are provided to the residents of Kitchener-Waterloo.

If you would like to support us, please attend a bingo session. See www.kwgaming.ca for more details and you could possibly walk away with the $10,000 main prize.

Council 1504 bingo runs every second Tuesday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m. If anyone is interested in helping out as a spare, please contact Whit Husk by email at whithusk@rogers.com or by phone at 519-743-6647.

CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES

As a way to bring Christ back into Christmas, our council is building nativity scenes for sale as a fundraising event. In preparation of the upcoming Christmas season, with jigsaws in hand, it is a regular sight to see Knights working on the nativity scenes. All are welcome to come out and help with this worthwhile endeavour either cutting, sanding or painting the scenes.

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM – AN UPDATE

(Kitchener, Ontario – September 27, 2014)

Saturday September 27th was a perfect day for the third Knights of Columbus E-waste Recycle Drive. The event was set up in the parking lot at Sobey’s at the corner of Max Becker Drive and Fischer/Hallman Road. A well-done to those Knights who were kept busy unloading vehicles and filling three large containers filled with discarded TVs; computers; monitors and other old electronics. A total of 8 Tonnes of e-waste was collected for recycling. This equates to $1480 aiding the Knights of Columbus in their charitable works.
